‘SIMBILL' A PANACEA FOR HEALTH INDUSTRY BILLING


ADVANCED Computer Software Supplies (ACSS), a leading national supplier of practice management solutions, is taking the pain out of the patient billing and payment collection process for health industry providers.

ACSS has unveiled its simplified billing systems ‘SimBill', which capture health industry-patient details and then automate the billing, tracking, collection and reconciliation of their individual accounts.

ACSS General Manager Steve Maric, says the new systems are complex in structure but simple in application.

"In developing SimBill we had to consider the complete billing process for hospitals and health practitioners and wrap it into a system that captured the relevant information for making claims to health funds and Medicare," says Mr Maric.

"The outcome is a product that supercedes existing systems and delivers the health industry a range of money making and money saving features."

Mr Maric says SimBill's built-in automation features allow a single person to administer complex payment systems, even in large establishments.

"If a hospital or medical group also acts as a billing agent they must have the ability to cope with a large volume of claims and then coordinate billing submissions, tracking, reconciliation and accountability to service providers and patients," he says.

"Traditionally these chores create a huge paper trail and the maintenance of it becomes labour intensive and somewhat unreliable.

"SimBill overcomes those problems and leads to faster payments through electronic collection and better overall maintenance of debts."

The SimBill systems comprise solutions tailored to independent third party billing agencies, individual surgeries and hospitals. There also is a system that interfaces with public hospitals for two-way data exchange of patient details.

The SimBill solutions add to the range of products that has already seen ACSS develop a blue chip client base that includes more than 4000 medical practitioners as well as Westmead Hospital, Darwin Public Hospital, Total Healthcare Enterprises, Endeavour Healthcare, Duta Pathology, Rayscan and Combined Pathology.

ACSS's flagship product is its ‘E-Claims' software that provides health groups with seamless electronic links to Medicare and the Department of Veteran's Affairs to speed up the account settlement process.

E-Claims software caters for all workers compensation, third-party and private billing infrastructures.

The new SimBill product complements e-Claims to deliver a total practice management solution for the Australian health industry.
